Derived from artists who sought expression under the extreme limitations of Soviet rule, the Polish School of Posters (Polska Szkoła Plakatu) gained international recognition between the 1950s and 1980s for its distinctive style. It blurred the boundaries between design and art, with posters often reflecting the artist’s interpretation of the subject rather than an objective depiction.
For my animated film, I incorporate minimalism and symbolism, using a limited number of elements but with strong metaphorical weight. Inspired by poster artists like Henryk Tomaszewski and Jan Lenica, I apply surrealism rather than literal representation. However, I include objects from my animation—such as the car, matchbox, and candy—placing them in unexpected contexts to to offer a truly interpretative experience.
