Synopsis
On a crisp autumn morning, a young girl from a post-Soviet town embarks on a foraging adventure with her father, a bear-like figure whose strength and protectiveness fill her world. He gently teaches her what is edible and poisonous as they navigate through the vibrant, leafy landscape. As the seasons change and time flows, we witness the girl grow into a woman and, eventually, a mother herself. She shares the same valuable lessons with her young son in a gentle echo of her childhood. She is surrounded by the familiar forest landscape, passing on the love and knowledge her father once gave her.
My purpose

This animation project is deeply personal to me, as it reflects my own journey of connection, growth, and the enduring bond between generations. Inspired by childhood memories of growing up in rural Poland, I was surrounded by the strength and quiet tenderness of family, much like the characters in my story. It’s my way of honouring those intimate moments — the simple rhythms of life — and something I hope to one day pass on to my children, if I have them. This project allows me to merge my passion for storytelling, illustration and hand-drawn aesthetics into a piece that feels both universal and uniquely mine. It’s a love letter to roots, nature, and shared wisdom.
